The invention discloses a working method of a large-vehicle steering active safety system. The working method includes following steps: step 1, setting a wheel speed sensor to collect a current speed of a vehicle; step 2, setting a system ECU (electronic control unit) to acquire a vehicle speed signal from an anti-lock braking system (ABS) or a vehicle dynamic electronic stability program (ESP) through a CAN (controller area network) bus; step 3, setting a steering wheel steering angle sensor to collect a current angle of a steering wheel; step 4, setting the system ECU to acquire a current angle of the steering wheel from an electric power-assisted steering system (EPS) through a CAN bus; step 5, calculating a shortest transverse braking distance and a shortest longitudinal braking distance of the vehicle according to the current speed of the vehicle; step 6, acquiring a transverse safe distance between pedestrians or obstacles and the vehicle by adding the shortest transverse braking distance of the vehicle with a preset isolating distance. The working method is simple in structure and convenient to use, and traffic accidents are avoided.
