Mismatch losses in SPV systems subjected to partial shading conditions

PV systems are designed either to feed the grid or for direct consumption. The development of photovoltaic plants throughout the world for both autonomous and grid-connected systems has required reliable modeling techniques. The power generated by solar photovoltaic (PV) module depends on surrounding irradiance, temperature and shading conditions. The cells must be connected in series configuration on a module to produce high voltage and the cells must be connected in parallel configuration on a module to produce high current. This paper focuses on simulation of photovoltaic PV module array and the performance of the simulated model is studied for uniform insolation and partial shading conditions (PSC).
