A spinning reserve capacity optimization method based on a cost-performance ratio of a reserve object, which falls within the technical field of electric power system automation. In the method, a cost-performance ratio of a spinning reserve object (hereinafter referred to as a reserve object) is calculated according to the total cost thereof in a target power shortage curve scenario set (hereinafter referred to as a target scenario set) and an effective reserved electric quantity which can be provided thereby, and the reserve object which needs to be configured in this scenario set is optimized accordingly. By means of the method, the cost and performance of a reserve object can be comprehensively taken into consideration and a better optimization effect can be gained in comparison with the optimization configuration performed according to a "capacity price" of the reserve object or according to "a sum of the capacity price and an electric quantity price multiplied by an event probability". At the same time, by means of the method, uniform optimization at sending and requiring sides can be directly realized, thereby avoiding an enormous amount of calculations in a decoupling-iterative procedure between the sending and requiring sides.
