Implementation AC Series Arc Fault Recognition using Mikrokontroller Based on Fast Fourier Transform

Series arc fault is one of the problems of electrical power quality which is very serious and can cause occupational safety accident, this paper proposes an experimental introduction of series arc fault using a microcontroller. Affordable price microcontrollers are used to process fast fourier transform (FFT) from the time domain to the frequency domain to determine the characteristics of the series arc fault interference. Experimental was designed by performing several different variations of experiments ranging from current variations of 1A, 1.5A, 2A, 2.5A, 3A, 3.5A, 4A with 220 V in resistive loads to analyze interference patterns. As well as variations in wavelength taken with a fixed power starting from 1 period to 8 to validate the frequency accuracy of interference and time efficiency when using a microcontroller. The experimental results show us that resistive loads occur with variations in currents and wavelength variations cause current harmonics at odd frequencies of multiples (3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17) will significantly and efficiently increase the process when data collection is only 1 period.
