Gas Diffusion Media and their Degradation

The GDL (gas diffusion layer) allows reactants to diffuse to the active sites on the electrocatalyst. It also facilitates water management by allowing water vapor to diffuse out, and facilitates the liquid water produced on the cathode side to flow out of the fuel cell.
