Low complexity pre postprocessing multiple description coding for video streaming

This paper proposes the MDC schemes, which can be configured as pre- and post-processing stages for video codecoder streaming application. Simulation results show a noticeable improvement of the proposed methods with respect to state-of-art algorithms, in terms of performance and complexity, keeping backward compatibility with the employed video codec. The delay and memory requirements at the encoder side make this algorithm particularly suitable for video streaming application characterized by a reasonable computational complexity.
