Steady-state sensor allocation algorithm based on Riccati equation

With the strategy of covariance control, an optimization model of sensor allocation is presented and a new steady-state allocation algorithm based on Riccati equation is porposed. Under the condition of the preassigned desired steady-state covariance, the algorithm calculates the efficiency of various sensor combinations by solving the Riccati equation, and then chooses the combination which has the minimum value of objective function for allocation. This algorithm can calculate the sensor allocation scheme in advance independent of the tracking cycle, so it is an off-line allocation method. The steps of this method are presented in detail and simulation results show the validity of this algorithm.
