Risk Assessment of XLPE Power Cables Based on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method

With the large-scale application of power cables in the urban power grid, the performance of power cables has a direct effect on the reliability of supply. Therefore, the risk assessment of power cables, which is an important act to improve power supply reliability and reduce economic loss, is vigorously carried out in power enterprises. The risk of power cables is relevant not only to the state of health, but also to the influence of multiple factors in the operating environment. Firstly, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of both internal and external risk factors of 110-kV XLPE cables, including various test parameters, defect records, the operating duration and the external environment, etc. Secondly, rational condition parameters are selected considering the engineering practice and on-site maneuverability. Then, the risk assessment model of XLPE power cables is established based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method is adopted to determine the weight for each condition parameter. Thirdly, 110-kV XLPE cables of Shenzhen power grid are taken for example, which proves the proposed model and method effectiveness and validity.
