Optical and electrical power dynamic range of semiconductor optical amplifiers in radio-over-fiber networks

Future RoF systems will be integrated into PON. We demonstrate that SOA reach extender provide a large optical and electrical power dynamic range of 30 dB. Optimum conditions are determined for QPSK and 16-QAM RF signals.
