RESPONSE OF VEHICLES MOVING ON ROUGH CONCRETE FLOORS

Dynamic responses of simple models of vehicles moving over rough concrete floors are computed. Floors are assumed to be rigid and to contain a single wavelength. Limiting values of floor roughness are computed using the criterion that peak response accelerations should not cause a load to slip. The principal parameters that control dynamic response are identified and discussed, showing that both the amplitudes and wavelengths of floor roughness should be controlled.
