Study of long-wavelength VCSEL-VCSEL injection locking for 2.5-Gb/s transmission

We demonstrate an improvement in transmission performance when an L-band VCSEL, directly modulated at 2.5 Gb/s, is injection-locked by relatively low injected optical power from another VCSEL. The improvement is attributed to a reduction in chirp.
