Polarized radiation of an atmosphere containing randomly-oriented spheroids.

Abstract The polarized internal and external radiation is calculated for a plane-parallel, homogeneous atmosphere and three types of randomly-oriented spheroids. The tabulated values are accurate and may serve as benchmark results. They have been obtained in two independent ways, namely, by using (i) a scheme based on the adding/doubling method and (ii) the F N method.
