Apparatus and method for providing user interface based on touch screen

PURPOSE: A touch screen based user interface (UI) providing device and a method thereof are provided to supply various types of UIs by providing additional UIs without adding a separate sensor. CONSTITUTION: A touch panel (10) generates an analog coordinate signal by detecting an electrostatic capacity which is generated by the approach and contact of a touch input unit. A controller (20) compensates a touch-sensing threshold and a noise threshold, and judges the validity of an input value of the compensated thresholds. A pattern recognition database (40) stores the input pattern information for recognizing a pattern which is received from a user in a noise mode providing a user Interface (UI) by utilizing the noise of a touch sensor. A device driver (30) determines conversion between the noise mode and a normal mode, and requests the controller for the compensation of threshold values to be converted into a determination mode.
