Randzonenveränderungen bei der Zerspanung gehärteter Stahlwerkstoffe

As a result of high mechanical and thermal loading as well, the surface structure of components can be influenced when machining hardened steel by turning and drilling. In particular, at increased tool wear, white rehardened layers with high tensile stress occur. Below it, an area of tempered structure is indicated. With respect to hard turning and hard drilling parameters, the mechanisms taking place under the workpiece surface are discussed. Additionally, the paper is focussed on the influence of different workpiece materials on surface integrity.
