Triply bridged dicopper-bis(trimethylsilylchalcogenolates): Synthesis and characterization of the series of helical complexes [(Me3SiE-Cu)2(µ-Ph2PCCPPh2-κ2P)3] (E = S, Se, Te)

The copper-chalcogenolates [(Me3SiE-Cu)2(µ-Ph2PCCPPh2-κ2P)3] (1, E = S; 2, E = Se; 3, E = Te) have been prepared in good yield from [(OAcCu)2(µ-Ph2PCCPPh2-κ2P)3] and E(SiMe3)2 at low temperatures. Complexes 1–3 contain two pendant -ESiMe3 moieties bonded to copper(I) centres, which are also bridged by three didentate ligands to form helical structures. Complexes 1–3 have been characterized by single crystal crystallographic and spectroscopic methods.Key words: copper, chalcogen, helical, trimethylsilyl groups, phosphinoacetylene.
