Controller design for voltage regulation of inverter-interfaced distributed energy systems

Interconnecting the distributed energy resources with the grid, which forms a distributed energy systems, is a promising way to enable renewable energy integration and to solve global problems such as energy crisis and climate change. Voltage regulation is a necessary requirement in the distributed energy systems, particularly in the systems operating in the island mode and serving the voltage-sensitive loads. In this study, a voltage and active power control scheme is proposed. To achieve high-performance voltage regulation, an adaptive fuzzy-neural controller, which is robust, adaptive, and capable of learning, is presented. The learning mechanism is derived based on the Lyapunov synthesis approach to guarantee the convergence of the control system.
