Computer-Aided Configuration and Start-Up of Process Control Systems

Abstract A systematic approach for the computer aided planning, configuration and operation of a process control system is outlined which supports systematic collection of all required informations, comfortable symbolic configuration of the system function and automatic compilation of the collected information to various documentation files. It is indicated, how the functional configuration and start-up of the process control system can be supported by computer simulations, process identification and selftuning features being part of the process control system itself.
