A mobile telecommunication device having a contents searching function and a method thereof

A mobile communication terminal having a contents searching function and a searching method using the terminal are provided to enable a user to search contents easily and quickly which are stored in the terminal according to each type of the contents and to search recently executed contents easily according to each type of the contents. A memory(50) stores various types of contents and key mapping information in accordance with each type of the contents. A controller(30) recognizes a signal inputted through a key input unit(20), and filters corresponding contents only from the stored contents according to the key mapping information of the memory. A display unit(40) displays filtered contents information according to a control signal of the controller.
