The paper presents a model studying the influence of critical infrastructures on sensitive systems. The states of sensitive systems functioning and corresponding to them negative consequences are described. Then, taking into account potential negative consequences of malfunctions in system’s functionality and the probability of their occurrence, the procedure for identification of critical infrastructure systems and specification of systems’ category is introduced. Finally, considering systems’ reliability and consequences caused by critical infrastructure system’s malfunctions at the fixed moment, the procedure allowing to specify the critical infrastructure system category at this moment, is given. Further, it is possible to determine the moment, at which the system goes into the category of posing a threat to other sensitive systems causing their damages or losses.
