Controlled generation of two-dimensional patterns based on Stochastic Cellular Automata

We present a computational model for the controlled generation of two-dimensional patterns based on Stochastic Cellular Automata. In particular, the approach we propose allows to keep under control both the shape and the size of the patterns generated. Moreover, the model allows to generate either a single pattern, or many different patterns within the same Automaton. Finally, we show how the model has been applied to the parametric generation of artificial percolation beds in the case of carbon black filled in a rubber primary material.
