Anticipating Job Aiding and Training Requirements

Abstract : The primary objective of this research effort was to gain a better understanding of current trends (demographic, workforce, technology, etc.) and challenges related to job aiding and training in order to develop the foresight needed to help formulate potential areas for future research. During the course of this effort, the scope of our research and investigations became specifically focused on Air Force technical training, which encompasses training for career fields such as Aircraft Maintenance, Medical, Civil Engineering, and numerous others conducted at various Air Force bases (as well as sister service bases) in the U.S. Although not specifically focused on during the research in the context of technical training, the topic of job aiding was still considered relevant to our research, since some of the same job aids used to directly support day-to-day operations and maintenance activities in the field, are also an integral part of technical training.
