DSP chip and its application in real-time image processing system

All operation capacity of CPU will be taken up if image is processed on general computer by software, resuting slow processing speed. Digital signal process (DSP) can be used to implement all kinds of algorithms of digital signal processing with its powerful processing capacity. DSP chip is applied and developed widely in the field of image processing, especially in real-time image processing. The paper introduces DSP chip,its development and application in real-time image processing system.
