FTA-based fault diagnose expert system for hydraulic equipments

As the core of fault diagnose expert system (FDES), perfection level of inference engine and fault knowledge base is one of the most important criteria to evaluate FDES' efficiency. And how to update the diagnose knowledge with the change of system structure robustly becomes the critical issue in designing a fault diagnose expert system. Aimed at the bottlenecks in current FDES design process, this paper proposes a FDES for hydraulic equipments with fault tree based reasoning capacity. By opening fault tree establishing and dynamical fault diagnose rules generating, the FDES' diagnose efficiency improves greatly. And the practical application shows that the fault diagnose expert system designed in the work has a good capacity of diagnose knowledge update.
