Adaptive Control of Raw Material Mix in Cement Plants

Abstract The problem of controlling the lime saturation factor of the clinker in cement plant automation is analyzed; a detailed model for the process is developed and two different control strategies are compared in a simulation study. Adaptive control is proposed as a way of improving process performance and solving a problem connected with the limitations of conventional PID control.
