Photoluminescence properties of Eu3+, Nd3+-codoped PLZT ceramics involving energy-transfer processes

Abstract Photoluminescence spectra and decay times of lead lanthanum zirconate titanate PLZT (9/65/35) doped with 0.1–2wt% Eu 3+ and Nd 3+ were measured at low temperatures down to 12 K. The luminescence decay curves of these rare-earth ions were found to be non-exponential, reflecting the inhomogeneous structure of the host material. Energy-transfer processes are discussed based on optical-spectroscopic data.
