A computationally efficient framework for hybrid controller design

A hybrid control system uses a logical discrete event system (DES) controller to supervise the behaviour of a continuous state plant. An important issue in hybrid control systems concerns precisely what constitutes "logically stable" behaviour in such systems. The challenge concerns the formulation of computationally efficient procedures for designing such logically stable systems. This paper provides a formal definition of hybrid system stability and outlines how this definition leads to a polynomial time procedure for hybrid control system synthesis.<<ETX>>
