Astypical circuit breakers today, thegeneral performance of SF6gasandair-blast circuit breakers related totherateofrise ofTRV was obtained fromtheresults ofextensive tests on circuit breakers, revealing thatwhile air-blast circuit breakers will find limited applica- tion, proving tobeeconomically disadvantageous, SF6gascircuit breakers willadequately andeconomically meetrequirements at stations whichwillhavea highrateofrise ofTRV infuture high- powernetworks.
