A Taxonomy Model for Analyzing Project-Based Learning Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP): A Case Study of Design of a Beer Company Website in an Elementary School

This paper presents a taxonomy model which applies analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to project-based learning. To implement the proposed model, a website has been built for the sixth-graders of an elementary school for their project-based learning. The learning target is knowledge about beer. The learning materials were provided by a local beer company. Six factors are considered as the inputs of the AHP including company introduction, characteristics of beer of the company, company visiting, beer promotion, beer manufacturing, and learning activity sharing. To investigate the importances among the six factors, we interviewed five experts who have at least seven years of teaching experience in an elementary school in Taiwan. The AHP is utilized to generate the weights (importances) for the input variables for the taxonomy model.
