Development of a Tool for the Graphical Modelling of 3D CAD Models Using a Rapid Prototyping Framework

The main topic of the paper is the development of a software prototype that improves the designing and understanding of parametric 3D CAD models of sheet metal forming tools. In order to reduce time and cost constraints, we are currently involved in the development of a new method for the design of sheet metal forming tools. The core of this method is a new graphical modelling language coupled with intelligent user interactions; thus making the modelling of complex relations easier and less error prone in the field of designing sheet metal forming tools.
