Design and control of a networked collaborative PV/Wind power system

In this paper, we present a design and control of a collaborative networked stand-alone hybrid PV/Wind power system. The idea is to use an existing network (Ethernet usually), to control and manage the produced energy of neighboring renewable energy power systems. The proposed strategy is particularly suitable for the small single renewable energy systems, in order to manage and share intelligently the produced energy with another nearby producer. We used this approach to simulate the networked control of two neighboring photovoltaic “PV” and wind power systems, with both controllers tuned using genetic optimization. The simulation results using the Truetime network simulator prove the relevance of the presented approach.
