Hydraulic-geotechnical model and stability of ant-nest system in dam

The ant-nest system is consist of ant-way and ambient soil mass,and for the biochemical reaction of the white-ant inhabited in soil, its properties are completely different from that of ambient soil. The whole ant-way can be simplified to hydraulic-geotechnical calculating model for free-drain short-pipe system with two bending-heads. The calculation can be conducted according to sluice short pipe when flood level is over the ant-nest system,and otherwise,according to siphon short-pipe. The distructive position of the dam body can be predicted correctly by (analysis) and calculation of hydraulic variation features, geotechnical engineering characters and interaction between the two. Finally, corresponding prevention and control countermeasures are put forward.
