SMALLER FORAMINIFERA FROM THE LATE CHANGHSINGIAN(LATEST PERMIAN) OF SOUTHERN GUANGXI AND DISCUSSION ON THE PERMIAN-TRIASSIC BOUNDARY

From two well dated Changhsingian sections of the platform and rift basin deposits in Bandong and Liu qiao areas, Guangxi Region of South China, two assemblages of smaller foraminifera have been found during radiolaria extractions. These specimens show external and partly inner structures, which is rather rare compared to studies from thin sections. The aim of this paper is to illustrate and briefly describe these assemblages because isolated Changhsingian foraminifera are relatively poorly known. They are essentially represented by Nodosarioidea and Cornuspiroidea. In coincidence with the radiolarians from the same samples in the Liuqiao section, the foraminifer assemblages contain some forms that are present in the Mesozoic and seem to cross over the Permian Triassic boundary without important disruption.
