Performance evaluation of absorption chiller using LiBr+H2N(CH2)2OH+H2O, LiBr+HO(CH2)3OH+H2O, and LiBr+(HOCH2CH2)2NH+H2O as working fluids

Abstract In order to check the theoretical performance of new working fluids LiBr+H 2 N(CH 2 ) 2 OH+H 2 O, LiBr+HO(CH 2 ) 3 OH+H 2 O, and LiBr+(HOCH 2 CH 2 ) 2 NH+H 2 O [LiBr/H 2 N(CH 2 ) 2 OH, LiBr/HO(CH 2 ) 3 OH, and LiBr/(HOCH 2 CH 2 ) 2 NH mass ratios were 3.5] which were developed particularly for the air-cooled cycle operation, the theoretical coefficients of performance ( COP s) were calculated at various operating conditions. The cooling capacity and crystallization problem were also checked at a specific condition for air-cooled cycle operation. All the solutions were found to be of possibe use as working fluids for the air-cooled absorption chiller as alternatives to the conventional LiBr+H 2 O solution
