A new adaptive control scheme for indirect vector control system (for AC motors)

A novel AC motor adaptive control scheme is proposed for correcting the deviations caused by temperature or flux saturation. Principally, the scheme is quite different from previously reported approaches, such as parameter identification and model reference adaptive control. In this scheme, the resulting flux orientation deviation from temperature rising or flux saturation is detected and then a flux orientation feedback controller is employed to adjust the parameters used in the slip calculator so that the decoupling conditions under indirect vector control are always satisfied. The major advantages of this method are its dynamic correction capability, simplicity, and accuracy as well as independence from changes in input reference or load disturbances.<<ETX>>
