Hearing aid having a passive, input level dependent noise reduction and methods

hearing aid with - a signal processing unit (10), a first signal processing channel (K1) and a second signal processing channel (K2) is connected, wherein - in the first signal processing channel (K1) a noise reduction device (11) is integrated, - the first signal processing channel (K1) to the second signal processing channel parallel (K2) is connected, which has the same input as the first signal processing channel (K1), and in which no noise reduction facility, but a level limiting means (12) is integrated, and - an adder (13) with which are added to the outputs of both signal processing channels (K1, K2) to a total output signal (SG), characterized, in that - the level limiting means (12) the output level limited to a predeterminable amount, and has no active level-dependent control, whereby - faint sounds are transferred to a characteristic inflection point of the level restricting means without attenuation in the total output signal (SG).
