Study of nonlinear-coupled vibration and control in power drive systems

Phenomena of oscillation or vibration in practical power converter drives are first introduced in this paper. The mechanism of vibration is then analyzed. It is a nonlinear-coupled vibration between mechanical and electrical systems. A novel method of suppressing this oscillation or vibration is suggested, i.e. the method of anti-oscillation adaptive electrical control. The mechanical or building vibration caused by power drives is suppressed by using the electrical control method. The applied effect of this method in the practical vibration suppression engineering is given.
