Image Detection System of Fiber Tape Laying Based on Machine Vision

Based on the interval detection system of fiber tape under a placement angle(0 ~ 90),the high-speed frame grabber was used to realize the computer vision technology.In the detection process,the "CCD/CMOS camera + frame grabber" was applied to achieve real-time image sequence capture.The hardware of image detection system was designed for fiber tape laying based on machine vision.And a simple interval detection algorithm was presented under the idea of measuring software design while the procedure steps of image processing were proposed.It was proved that visual inspection can be used in laying defect.In order to improve overall system performance,ARM or DSP could be used to replace PC,and improvement of the image recognition algorithm could improve the accuracy of fiber tape edge detection and realize real-time detection.
