Shear Stress Analysis of a Polypyrrole/Clay Nanocomposite-based Electrorheological Fluid

We have reanalyzed the flow behavior of polypyrrole/clay nanocomposite-based electrorheological (ER) suspensions (ref. 22). Our proposed shear stress model not only fits the flow curves of the polypyrrole/ clay nanocomposite ER fluids but also provides a better explanation of their flow properties when compared with the Bingham fluid model. Especially, we were able to describe the shear stress decrease as a function of the shear rate at low shear rate.
