METKIT and the ESPRIT program

Abstract The ESPRIT program funds research and development in information technology in the European Community. The ESPRIT project “METKIT” is producing educational materials in the area of software metrics for use in both industry and academia. This article places METKIT in context by briefly describing the ESPRIT program. Some details of METKIT's achievements to date and future plans are given.
