Utilidad de la amplificación aleatoria de ADN en la diferenciación de Candida albicans y Candida dubliniensis

Candida dubliniensis es una especie recientemente descrita y estrechamente relacionada con Candida albicans. La separacion de ambas especies por los metodos micologicos convencionales no es sencilla, razon por la cual numerosos investigadores han recurrido a tecnicas relacionadas con el ADN para la correcta identificacion de C. dubliniensis. En el presente estudio, proponemos el uso de la amplificacion aleatoria de segmentos de ADN (RAPD) con un oligonucleotido comercial capaz de separar ambas especies. Dicho oligonucleotido, AB1-12, permitio ademas separar los aislamientos de C. albicans en cuatro genotipos diferentes entre si y del genotipo unico observado en C. dubliniensis.
