Investigation of optimal allocation of wind DG in distribution system

Optimum location of Wind based Distributed Generation unit is requisite as allocation at non-optimal places may effect system performance. The Wind DG unit supplies real power but consumes reactive power. In this paper analysis is being done for the possible improvement in system voltage profile and reduction of system losses by the addition of wind DG in a distribution system with the help of NR and Analytical expression. Results shows that Wind DG placed at proper place could be very effective for the system. For demonstrating the performance of approach IEEE 14 bus and IEEE 33 bus are taken as test systems and outcomes are discussed.
