Manufacturing techniques of composites for aerospace applications

Abstract This chapter proposes to deliver a summary to the broad arena of manufacturing processes of composites for aerospace application by explaining the principle of how to produce composites, and presenting some of the current processes of manufacturing composites. This chapter also emphasizes problems faced during the manufacturing process. The main objectives in the aerospace industry are in terms of manufacturing cost and composite performance which can be accomplished with improvements in the composite manufacturing process. It is crucial to understand the parameters that could affect composite products. Composite manufacturing processes need to be cost-effective and able to produce composites with good quality. Manufacturing process technology has started to advance, which increases the quality of the composite. This chapter explains the basic principles of manufacturing process related to cost.
