Experiences with High-Level Programming of FPGAs on Cray XD1

We recently started to explore the potential of FPGAs for some application kernels that are important for our most demanding supercomputer users at ZIB. In this paper, we give an overview of our efforts and present current status achieved so far on a Cray XD1 system using the Mitrion-C programming environment.
