Real-Time Dynamic Simulation Model of Fiber Optical Current Transformer Considering Temperature Characteristics

With the help of the real-time digital simulator(RTDS),the paper studies and establishes the real-time dynamic simulation model of the fiber optical current transformer(FOCT). The equivalent model of FOCT's digital closed loop control system is created by reasonably simplifying deviation and feedback of FOCT. Then the variable parameter is also introduced in that model, based on the change laws of the optical fiber Verdet constant and λ/4 wave plate phase delay and the mathematical model about λ/4 wave plate parameter of the light intensity received by the detector. The simulation results show that the real-time dynamic simulation model of FOCT built in this paper not only is reasonable, but also can simulate the temperature characteristic in steady state of FOCT effectively, what's more, its transient characteristic is not bad. It is useful for further study of FOCT's performance and testing for smart substation's correlative equipment.
