TEAM -- CO2 Reduction through Online Weather Assistant for Cooperative ACC Driving

Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC) harmonizes the cruising speed of vehicles during their journey and delivers a positive effect on fuel consumption and thus to CO2 emission. Since the weather in our hemisphere is subject to frequent change it has an influence on applicable speed profiles for CACC systems. In order to minimize the effect of various weather influences a weather assistant will be introduced in combination with the CACC functionality, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions through optimized parameters for speed, routing and navigation. Automated technologies assure the seamless integration into the driver's environment without distracting from controlling the vehicle safely all the time.
