An improved configuration of symmetrical two-coaxial feeder for use in short electromagnetic pulse measurements

The two-coaxial feeder is a balun, which has recently become very popular for feeding short electromagnetic pulse probes. In this paper, we suggest a configuration using a short wire dipole. If one uses a two-coaxial balun in this configuration, the structure responds symmetrically to symmetrical incident electromagnetic pulses and as a result produces a symmetrical pattern. A few measurement results are presented to support the idea.
