A novel method for preparing bipolar membranes

Abstract A method for preparing a bipolar membrane from separate anion and cation exchange films is described. In the procedure an inorganic electrolyte solution is introduced between the films before they are pressed together. The resulting membrane has a low electrical resistance and a high “water splitting” efficiency.
