Phase jumps on surface plasmon resonance

Surface plasmon (SP) is collective charge excitation at the interface between a conductor and a dielectric [1]. Many researchers have investigated SP because the electric field at the surface is enhanced. Attenuated total reflection spectroscopy (ATR) with the Otto configurations (prism/air/sample) is one of the most promising methods to study several surface excitations on single crystal [2]. However SP is strongly perturbed by the prism, which makes understanding of observed signals difficult [1-2].
