UHF Near-Field Coupling of Patch Antenna: Analysis, Simulation and Experiment

A method employing aperture-field integration (AI) is used to analyze UHF near-field coupling effect of a pair of patch antennae, and coupling degree and amplitude-phase consistency were also examined using software HFSS. Analyses and simulations indicate that signals received by receiving patch antenna are linearly related to those of submitting patch antenna, which can be applied in hard-ware-in-the-loop simulation, if the couple antennae satisfy near-field condition. However, mutual coupling effect introduced by other antennae in the system distorts signals transmission between the couple antenna, therefore further research is needed to solve this disadvantage.
