Algorithm research of routing and spectrum allocation based on OSNR impairment model in elastic optical network

High spectrum efficiency and flexibility are the advantages of elastic optical network, which is the future direction of optical network development. Routing and resource allocation is one of the core technologies of flexible optical networks. This paper propose an improved RSA algorithm in the elastic optical network which based on OSNR impairment model. It considers both QoT (quality of transmission) and available spectrum resources of the network in routing selection and spectrum allocation. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that compared with the traditional RSA algorithm, the proposed algorithm can improve the transmission efficiency and quality, and reduce the traffic blocking rate.
